86 Years of Service
The State Employees’ Association will celebrate 86 years of service at its Annual Convention on October 10, 2026. Elected delegates (Councilors and Chapter Presidents) will gather in a hybrid format, participating either in person at the SEA Headquarters or virtually via Zoom.
For more than eight decades, SEA has stood together to advocate for New Hampshire’s public employees. Our Annual Convention is the union’s highest governing meeting, bringing together elected delegates from across the state to celebrate our shared accomplishments, conduct the business of the Association, and help shape the future of our union.
Throughout the Convention, delegates will consider resolutions, vote on constitutional amendments, receive reports on the work of the Association, and discuss the priorities that will guide SEA in the year ahead. Just as importantly, the event provides an opportunity to connect with fellow leaders, exchange ideas, and strengthen the solidarity that has defined our union for 86 years.
Registration information and materials will be emailed directly to all eligible delegates prior to the Convention.
We look forward to celebrating our history, honoring our achievements, and building an even stronger future—together.

Board of Directors positions will be elected at the Annual Convention: More to come!
Who are the SEA Board of Directors?
The State Employees Association of New Hampshire (SEA) is a non-profit organization that represents and protects the rights of unionized public workers here in NH. It is a self-governed union where the members themselves serve in the key leadership roles that shape the course and direction of the organization.
The Board of Directors is the executive body of the union, made up of elected members who attend to the business needs of the organization. The Board is structured to include a President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and several directors. Members of the Board are elected by their peers at the SEA’s Annual Convention or by special election if an office becomes vacant between conventions.
Many SEA members are not familiar with the different types of leadership positions that exist or how to serve in one of these roles. Becoming a union leader is not as hard or time-consuming as some may think. Some positions even have contractual leave time to attend monthly meetings.
Article Seven (VII) of the SEA Constitution establishes that the SEA has a Board of Directors that is made up of members from different SEA-represented agencies and public employers. The Board serves a very important role in overseeing and directing the SEA’s broader activities and policies. There is no special experience required to serve as a director.
How do I become a member of the SEA Board of Directors?
SEA Board of Director Positions are elected. The elections for these positions occur at either the annual SEA Convention or at a bi-annual SEA Council meetings. These meetings are held online, and members wishing to run for a position, such as Director, may attend the meeting remotely.
