MEMBER UPDATE
Longtime DOT worker dies in the line of duty
We’re sad to report that Craig Belyea, who was a member at the Department of Transportation for more than 30 years, died while on a plow run during the winter storm on Dec. 2. Craig started work at the DOT shortly after graduating from high school in 1987. This was his 32nd year of state employment.
Calling hours were held late last week. The family has directed donations in his memory to Gretchen Taylor Children’s Fund, P.O. Box 223, Meriden, NH 03770 or Upper Valley Senior Center Meals on Wheels, 10 Campbell Street, Lebanon, NH 03766. You can find the full obituary here.
His death was the first in the line of duty since the state dedicated a memorial to public works employees earlier this year. It is our sincere hope that his name is added in recognition of his sacrifice.
