With Labor Day approaching, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of SEA/SEIU Local 1984 members. You serve the state and our communities day in and day out, on all shifts and in all kinds of weather. You risk your lives and make all kinds of sacrifices for the good of all Granite Staters.
While Labor Day is a holiday for most, we all know that plenty of SEA members will be hard at work as others celebrate the end of summer with a barbecue or a trip to the beach. Remember that it’s your work and your dedication that enable the rest of the state – and all the visitors who will drive through this weekend – to enjoy the holiday.
For those of you who are working on the holiday, I hope you can find some time this weekend to relax. Even if you’re not working, please enjoy the time but be mindful of your fellow union members who are busy keeping things running.
Don’t forget what Labor Day is all about – recognizing the contributions of unions. I’m proud of the work you do and I’m proud to be a part of this union. Have a great holiday.
