Race participants raise more than $1,600 for our Christmas program
One of the largest groups in years turned out on April 6 for our annual SEA 5K Road Race and Fitness Walk. The 5K has always benefitted Operation Santa Claus, but this year participants were able to individually raise money for OSC.
In all, participants raised $1,668, a total that does not include major sponsor contributions. The hope going forward is that with a year under our belts, next year we can raise even more.
As for the race itself, Louis Saviano, of Sandown, was the top overall finisher and Amber Ferreira, of Concord, was the top female finisher. The first SEA member across the finish line was Mark Doperalski, Chapter 20, and the top SEA female finisher was Regina Flynn, Chapter 16. The Department of Health and Human Services was the top chapter team. You can find full results and race photos here.
Thank you to our sponsors and to all who took part, especially those who took on the challenge of raising money for Operation Santa Claus. Let’s make next year even better.
