Join us for a paddle in memory of Ken Roos

Last year our union lost a driving force, First Vice President Ken Roos. Ken’s family has issued an open invitation to join in a celebration of Ken’s life doing something Ken loved dearly: paddling on the river.

You’re invited to join Jodi, Nate and Alexa Roos in a paddling celebration of Ken’s life on Sunday, May 26 at 12:30 p.m. (Rain date is Monday, May 27.) You can launch your boat from the Roos camp at 131 River Road in Concord. Overflow parking and launch are available for $5 at nearby Contoocook River Canoe and Kayak on Horse Hill Road, which also offers rentals. If you plan to rent a kayak or canoe, call 753-9804 two weeks in advance to ensure availability.

Bring your own food and drink as we paddle upstream to Daisy Beach for a picnic lunch (round trip paddling time of two hours). If you don’t paddle but want to join us for the picnic, you can access Daisy Beach from Jim Hall River Walk, 198 Runnells Road, Concord. The group should arrive between 1:30 and 2 p.m. Please RSVP to Joel Berman at joelcberman@gmail.com and include your preferred method of contact in case the weather forces a change of date.
