Why it matters

Nurses voted to unionize. Now they need a fair first contract.

In September 2025, nurses at Concord Hospital–Laconia and Concord Hospital–Franklin voted to join SEA/SEIU Local 1984. They are now at the bargaining table — and community support makes a difference.

  1. Safe staffing
  2. A voice in the workplace
  3. Respect on the job
  4. A fair first contract

This historic step was not taken to create division, but because nurses felt they had no other choice.

“Our core values are not just slogans to be displayed on a wall — they are the standards by which we practice. I live by these core values at the bedside every shift I work.”
