Brunette elected to Board of Directors

SEA/SEIU Local 1984 President Rich Gulla poses for a photo with newly sworn-in Director Peter Brunette.

Correction: An earlier version of this story inadvertently omitted the name of candidate Lura Seavey. We apologize for the error.

Last week, Peter Brunette was elected to the SEA/SEIU Local 1984 Board of Directors in a special election at the June quarterly Council meeting.

Brunette has served the union in a variety of roles, including a previous stint on the Board of Directors, chapter president, councilor and steward. He is an attorney with the Department of Health and Human Services in the Laconia district office.

The position filled by Brunette was left vacant when Mary Fields was elected First Vice President at last year’s convention. Brunette’s seat is up for re-election at this year’s convention. A second position, for the private sector member of the board, went unfilled at the special election.

We hope you’ll join us in congratulating Peter on his election and thanking him and our other candidates, Dennis Etchells and Lura Seavey, for stepping forward to lead.
