Good morning,
We’re sending this message to members in advance of a public media release to let you know that the SEA’s master bargaining team met with the governor’s team on Thursday to try to reach an agreement based on the report of the independent fact-finder. We did not reach an agreement in that meeting.
We must make clear: the governor can come forward at any time and settle this with a fair contract offer. If no agreement is reached by 3:30 p.m. this afternoon (Friday), we will send a release to the media as well as our members, and we will post the entire fact-finder’s report on this page of our website.
Please read on for more details, including what comes next.
Why we didn’t we reach an agreement
The fact-finder’s report was extremely favorable to the SEA, finding our arguments on many of the articles of contention compelling, however, the state’s last best offer is insufficient.
What comes next
MEETING: We will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the DES auditorium, 29 Hazen Drive, Concord. The purpose will be to review the fact-finder’s report, and as of this moment, no official votes will be taken.
VOTE ON FACT-FINDER’S REPORT: Provided no agreement is reached with the state, all members will receive a copy of the fact-finder’s report and will be asked to vote on it, as spelled out in RSA 273-A:12.
