Bargaining Update – June 18, 2019

Good afternoon,

As the end of the month (and fiscal year) approaches, we wanted to provide a bargaining update along with a few reminders on the current contract.

Fact-finding preparations: Our bargaining team is preparing for fact-finding, working on research and beginning to outline our presentation. The Public Employee Labor Relations Board has appointed a fact-finder, Mary Ellen Shea, and our team expects to meet with her later in the summer.

What goes away after June 30: The end of the month is a key sunset day for some benefits as the contract is set to move to evergreen. Here are a few reminders:

  • Floating holidays: Any members with floating holiday hours that are set to expire must use them by June 30.
  • Health Rewards: The Health Rewards program will again go away after June 30, so we highly recommend that you retrieve your points and get your reward cards as soon as possible because rewards take time to process. Additionally, if you’ve yet to take the Health Assessment Test (HAT), you should do that as well. You can find more information on Health Rewards and the HAT on the state’s website.
  • COBRA coverage: Insurance coverage post-layoff will also sunset after June 30.

If you haven’t yet signed our petition asking Gov. Sununu to deliver a fair contract, we ask you to do that today. You can find the petition here.
